Major Milestone for Macquarie Home Stay
Macquarie Home Stay (MHS) celebrated a major milestone last Friday to commemorate the opening of the CWA of NSW Guesthouse. Major donors, sponsors, political leaders, guests, community and supporters attended the event, some 240 people celebrating the exciting milestone.
The outpouring of support of emotions on the day, and every day since, has been appreciated by MHS who are feeling unbelievably grateful for everyone’s support.
The CWA of NSW Guesthouse build was completed in February this year, well over 2,000 guests have been accommodated just in the new facility alone since completion, and at times the guesthouse has been fully booked.
MHS understands the needs of our guests and community, and we proactively engage with the NSW Government and in particular the health portfolio and subsidy scheme IPTAAS. The financial support provided by the IPTAAS subsidy is a valuable lifeline for patients needing to travel and supporting healthier and happier regional communities.
MHS now operates 51 units of patient accommodation, and based on the current usage by patients and their families they will accommodate circa 8,500 people each year. A great achievement made possible through our community's support and the amount of generous donations and sponsorship received. Most importantly, MHS is filling a much needed gap in accommodation and providing a great service for regional patients, a gap that is always appreciated by our guests and health services.
Ït’s a wonderful achievement for the MHS board as we recognise and reflect on what’s been delivered and also our incredibly dedicated team who get to deliver our fabulous service to our guests and patients every day,” Rod Crowfoot, Managing Director of MHS said.
Our buildings are an enabler, it lets us do so much. We are known for so much more than just the bricks and mortar of a building. Our business and accommodation is changing lives, and saving lives and for that we are truly grateful.
